12 Essential Steps to Achieving Your Health, Wellbeing and Fitness Goals 2023.

WHY? - Make your reason for wanting to exercise big and hold value to you. It could be weight loss, a medical reason, a family wedding, a holiday. But it must be big. If your reason for doing something is not big enough, then your excuses will be!!!

MINDSET – Make exercise part of your life, a routine, a ritual like cleaning your teeth. Mindset is everything!!!

START – Some people procrastinate and then do nothing. You know the ones, don't be one of them. Start now!!! You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start in order to be great!!!

NUTRITION – Never under estimate the importance of nutrition, especially for weight loss and muscle gains. A healthy, balanced meal consisting of carbohydrates, proteins and fats is recommended. If you don`t always have time to prepare healthy meals, then look into taking some quality supplements.

CONSISTENCY – Exercise could be as little as 10 mins every day or an hour 5 times a week, your choice, but be consistent. Discipline is the key.

ENJOYMENT – choose a

local gym where possible, friendly members, no ego`s, cheerful staff that are happy to see you makes a big difference. If you enjoy your gym and your work out, you will return and more importantly continue on your fitness journey.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY – get them to buy into what you are doing, you want encouragement, praise and not ridicule, encourage them to exercise with you would be even better.

TIME - never make time an excuse, get up an hour earlier if need be, take your kit with you to work, prepare your lunch and healthy snacks the night before. People will always make time for what they want to do.

TARGETS – Make them challenging, but achievable. A target gives you something to aim for.

CELEBRATE SUCCESS – when you have achieved a target treat yourself, a meal out or buy yourself a little something. Everyone deserves a pat on the back occasionally.

HELP – get help, especially if you have never exercised before. Speak to a personal trainer at your local gym. They are the experts who will help you every step of the way.

SLEEP – having a good night`s sleep, aid`s recovery, reduces stress, less tired throughout the day, you are more mentally alert, less likely to make tiredness an excuse to cancel a work out.
